A Digital Earth Leakage Relay is a safety device continuously monitoring earth leakage currents in electrical systems. It disconnects the circuit when imbalance is detected, thus preventing any potential hazards like electric shocks or fires.
The Digital Earth Leakage Relay measures the difference between live and neutral currents. It uses core balance CT to do so. It activates a trip mechanism to disconnect the power supply when any leakage current is detected exceeding a preset threshold.
